After Reggie (Owen Wilson) discovers that his friends are being fattened up to be eaten for Thanksgiving, he teams up Jake (Woody Harrelson), a turkey from the other side of the track, to go back in time and get turkeys off of the Thanksgiving dinner menu.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Alvin’s Thanksgiving Celebration (2008)

Who doesn’t like a good animated movie? Especially when it has our favorite chipmunks! Even if your kids have seen this movie before, it’s a great pick this Thanksgiving. A lot happens in the film; Dave gets married, and Alvin, Simon, and Theodore act in a play while discovering famous moments in the U.S. history.

Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving (1999)

When Thanksgiving comes around, you should not miss out on this flick. To make the perfect Thanksgiving dinner, Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet set out on an adventure in the Hundred Acre Wood to collect all the ingredients to whip up the perfect Thanksgiving dinner for the gang.

Garfield’s Thanksgiving (1989)

Everyone’s favorite lasagna-loving, Monday-hating, cat appears in this short Thanksgiving special. With Garfield forcing Jon to make a Thanksgiving dinner the day before the holiday, and that dinner going horribly wrong, kids are bound to love the film! Parents will love the Thanksgiving lessons sprinkled throughout the short movie, as well.

Curly Sue (1991)

This is the last film by director John Hughes is about a homeless man and his young cohort, who scam a wealthy woman in hopes of a warm meal. What they get instead, is a room to sleep in for the night. The two homeless scammers get to know each other a little better, and end the movie with a heartwarming message.

Avalon (1990)

The heart-warming story of an immigrant family that settles in the United States is told through the patriarch of the family. He shows how important family is no matter how tough things might seem, having family at your side is all that matters. This film largely centers around Thanksgiving, and the meaning of the holiday.
